Digital
photography appeals to my stingy nature, since after the
initial investment, it is quite inexpensive. It also involves
using computers, to which I am hopelessly addicted. Therefore,
it is a perfect hobby for a techno-tightwad.
It also blends well with sailing,
another hobby my wife and I enjoy. This year I decided that
every time we sail a Kansas lake (there is really only one
natural lake in Kansas, Lake Inman, all the rest are reservoirs),
I will create a panorama and post it to this page. All panoramas
are created from images captured with a Olympus D-510 Zoom
digital camera, and stitched with MGI Photovista. The resulting
panorama is displayed using a Java applet, and thus does
not require a plug-in when viewed on a Java-enabled browser.
I hope you enjoy these images,
and that they inspire you to visit some of our beautiful
lakes.
