Thomas Kinnersley in London
Thomas moved to London around 1816 and established a place of business on Kingsland Road in the suburb of Shoreditch. His birth and marriage records have not been found. But we do have, from the parish register of St Leonard's, Shoreditch:
Thomas/Mary Ann Kinnersley, Acton Place:
| Born | Baptized | |
| Mary Ann | 9 Feb 1810 | 4 Jun 1816 |
| Frederick | 3 Jul 1812 | 4 Jun 1816 |
| Henry | 28 Feb 1815 | 4 Jun 1816 |
| Edwin | 9 Dec 1816 | 29 Sep 1820 |
| Jesse | 3 Sep 1820 | 29 Sep 1820 |
St Leonard's does not record the baptism of Thomas' eldest son Thomas Bonham Kinnersley born in 1806 (see below), suggesting that he had already been baptized elsewhere.
Mary Ann was younger than her husband by 20 years, and she was only 19 when TBK was born. While not impossible, this suggests that Thomas Bonham may have been the product of an earlier marriage. For example, Thomas' second marriage to Mary Ann could have taken place about 1808 when she was 22. The name Bonham might then be the maiden name of his first wife, or bear some other connection to her family.
