Margaret Dow was born in Elgin, Illinois. She married her first husband at St Andrew's Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She lived in Dayton, Ohio with her second husband, and is buried in Lorraine Park Cemetery in Baltimore.

Lothrop lived in Detroit, where he worked as a mechanical engineer with the architectural firm of Albert Kahn and Associates. We may have his birth and death dates wrong, since the Social Security Death Index lists a Lothrop Dow (17 Jun 1897 - Feb 1970) who died in California.
