My father WMK Jr attended Baltimore City College, graduating in 1927, and Towson State Normal School, graduating in 1929. He then taught school for the next six years, during the Great Depression. He worked for the Accounting Office of the Chevrolet Assembly Plant in Baltimore from 24 Aug 1936 to 3 Nov 1953, although for part of that time he served in World War II. From 27 Jul 1943 to 3 Oct 1945 he served in the Headquarters Battery, 882nd Field Artillery Battalion, 70th Infantry, stationed in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Riley, Kansas. From 1 Dec 1953 to 29 May 1974 he was Superintendent of the Bureau of Receipts for Baltimore City.
Milly was the daughter of Raymond and Colie Williams. She was born in Woolford, Maryland, moved to Baltimore about 1915, and attended Towson High and Towson State Normal School. She then taught at Fullerton and Hamilton Elementary Schools. They were married at St Matthias' Episcopal Church in Baltimore.

At various times our family has lived in Pasadena, California; Austin, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; Bozeman, Montana; Pullman, Washington, and presently Lawrence, Kansas. Susan attended the University of Kansas and is now a teacher of middle school in Kansas City, Missouri. Margie attended the University of Texas at Austin and is now doing graduate work at the University of Montana. Bill is attending Washington University in St Louis, Missouri.
