Frederick Kinnersley's First Marriage

Frederick Kinnersley was the third child of Thomas Kinnersley, born in London and baptised at St Leonard's Shoreditch.

Frederick is listed in the New York City Directories from 1838 on, at various addresses. He worked as a streetcar conductor and as a policeman. His death notice is in the New York Daily Times and the New York Tribune on 18 Jan 1882. Between his first and second wives, Frederick had a total of ten children. Serena's death was from "remittent fever," which usually means malaria. The notice is in the New York Tribune on 7 Jun 1847. She is buried in St Mark's cemetery.

Their first child Serena was baptized on 10 Aug 1834 at St Mark's Church.

   b)Thomas Jefferson Kinnersley (1830's - 21 Aug 1863)

A book in the possession of Earl Kinnersley had an inscription with this name, dated 1852. Thomas J. Kinnersley died while serving in the Civil War, when the Brig Bainbridge sank in a storm off Cape Hatteras (New York Times, 27 Aug 1863).

These children of Frederick all died young, and are buried at the Cemetery of the Evergreens.
