FairPlay Services and Publications
In 1984 a group of educators formed FairPlay Services and Publications. FairPlay's chief focus has been to:
Integrate the blue-ribbon concepts of Benjamin S. Bloom, a noted educator, with the concepts of W. E. Deming, a noted advocate of quality management.
We have learned to use the quality control sheet, a tool of quality management, in such a way that the concepts of Bloom and Deming become fully integrated.
In addition, with the control sheet, we have learned to integrate basic reading, writing, and math skills into history, English, and literature.
Results
From over 15 years of development, we can now state as matters-of-fact that quality managed instruction:
6. Enables educators, for the first time, to integrate writing and math across the curriculum
7. Enables a teacher to develop an individualized curriculum for each student and to provide live, real time, personal guidance (Click for explanation).
Implications
These statements of fact have enormous implications for all academic instruction. Consider, for example:
The savings in brick, mortar and maintenance from reducing classroom space by 50% and from increasing learning effectiveness by 50%.
The savings from by eliminating the need for substitute teachers and tutoring?
The joy of teaching when the students ask all of the questions!
A quality managed curriculum that elegantly integrates writing and math across the curriculum --something no other approach to education has yet accomplished.
For these reasons all of FairPlay's publications and services focus on integrating the concepts of Bloom and Deming into education.
