Because you are a Christian

   While we are not to judge each other as far as our eternal destiny, we are to make judgments about ourselves and others. Consider the following verses, and the fact that they would be meaningless unless we could judge something about the situation, another person or group of persons, or ourselves.

   I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;
           1 Corinthians 5:9

    But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one.
           1 Corinthians 5:11

   "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
           Matt 7:15

   Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
            Romans 12:16

    Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us.
            2 Thessalonians 3:6

    Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
           Eph 5:11

    If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame.
            2 Thessalonians 3:14
**************
   Should we be concerned whether we are Christians? And if so, should this be of slight, or great importance?

Paul wrote:
   Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith;
           2 Corinthians 13: 5

   Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15
Peter wrote:

   Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you;
           1 Peter 1: 10
John wrote:
   These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. (and God wants ((commands)) you to read them)
           1 John 5: 13
Jesus said:
   If ye love me, keep my commandments.
           John 14: 15
