After the River City Reunion, I was over at Williams and we were talking. He said, "Let me give you this. Edie brought it to me" then he shook his head. He continued, " It was Joan's from when they lived together." I never asked William about Joan's death. but I asked him what she was like.We would sometimes talk about her. He said she was funny, sharp, fast, intelligent. He once said, some of my humor was like Joan's. Sometimes he would talk about some event or memory of her.Not very often. I thought that he probably wouldn't be able to converse like that with most people. I honored him, because somehow it meant that he honored her.
Joan, Edie towel. In case you wonder, this is not for sale but because I thought people interested in his stuff would find this interesting.
