OK, I know the Ozarks are not in Kansas, but I had the opportunity to make this recently, so here it is. I had to climb a 100 foot tall metal observation tower to take it, my hands gripping the steel handrail every step. The area is just west of Eureka Springs , in northwestern Arkansas. This image was made in early May, when the hills were green and lovely. There is lots of nice camping in the area, particularly at nearby Beaver Lake.
