Mushroom Slide Program
Mushrooms in Kansas
is a NAMA slide program (No. 23) written by Ron Meyers. The 80 selected
photographs by Iralee Barnard, Elizabeth Moses, Dean Abel, Bruce Horn,
Richard Kay, Bob Lichtwardt and Ron Meyers cover some of the diversity
of mushrooms found in Kansas. Some of the mushrooms are very common,
but others are considered rather rare and unusual. Amanita populiphila,
Lycoperdon echinatum, Lycoperdon marginatum, and Ischnoderma resinosum
are among the mushrooms you are not likely to encounter on the average
foray.
While all the photographs
were taken in Kansas, many of the mushrooms are also probably found in
the other states of the great plains. The program is approximately
45 minutes long.
