The bathroom floor at our new house was
originally carpeted. Lisa and I decided that we didn't like the
carpet so we searched the flooring stores and decided on the tile you see
here (made by Florida Tile). This was my first ever large tiling job
on a floor and overall I'm very happy with the results
|
So far this is the only major project I've done
to our new house. Lisa and I have talked of carpeting the floor in
the dining area and I'd put tile down on the kitchen floor.
Currently both those areas have vinyl flooring. The vinyl that is on
the floor is fragile and has several cuts and dents.

Originally our first house had a very steep set of stairs going to the
loft. Lisa and I took a trip to Miami, Florida to visit friends and while
there we visited a showroom for spiral staircases in Sarasota (1995).
|
This shows the beginning of the installation of the spiral stairs we
picked out. This is the south west corner of the living room.
The original steep stairs are on the northwest corner of the room.

The completed stairs. Note the door to the right. I
installed that during a later remodel of the guest bedroom.
Originally the entrance to that bedroom was through the master bedroom
(don't know who ever though of that). |
The guest bedroom partway through the remodel. I had already torn
out all the previous drywall, insulated and framed the vaulted ceiling.
|
|
The guest bedroom further along. I had yet to finish the bi-fold
door for the closet and trim and paint the window. This bedroom
originally had no closet. |
The framing of the vaulted ceiling of the master bedroom. I just
couldn't get enough of the difficult drywalling apparently! The
closet barely visible on the right was installed during a previous project
when I had heating ducts run to the loft area.

The master bedroom during the mudding and taping process. |
