 | Suicide
Survivors - After more than 20 years I have only recently explored
the issues I have being a Suicide Survivor. These links have been very
educational and amazingly enough, comforting. I read many of the
stories and see things about myself in them. I have found a support
group that meets in Topeka twice a month. As yet I've not been able to
work up the courage to attend. Recently I have read 3 books on the
subject: "No Time to Say Goodbye" by Carla Fine, "In
The Wake of Suicide" by Victoria Alexander, and "Healing After The
Suicide of a Loved One" by Ann Smolin and John Guinan. These are
good books and I would recommend them. Here
are 2 other suicide survivor sites.

 | Chronic Tonsilitis Click here
for a link to a discussion area on tonsilectomies. UPDATE! On
1/24/01 I had my tonsilectomy surgery. All is going well except for my sense of taste.
It's really messed up. NOTHING tastes right and some things taste
horrible (like chocolate - which tastes bitter). The Dr. said that approximately 10% of
his adult patients have this happen and it can take up to 4 months to get
back to normal. It is now 2 months since my tonsilectomy and I have
not seen any improvement in my sense of taste. I am less than happy
about this and not optimistic that I'll see any improvement. Click here
for a picture of my throat just after the tonsilectomy. Caution:
Many people who have seen this say it is gross!

 | LASIK Vision Correction Click here
for a link to a discussion group on the pro's and con's of LASIK. Note
that the last time I was there a few people with less than optimal results
dominated the area and did their best to discourage everyone from risking it. Personally I am less than completely
satisfied. I am thankful that I have good vision after the correction
but less than thrilled at the number of floaters
I now have.

 | Colorado - If
you love the mountains and the outdoors this is the place to vacation!
Lisa and I have been to Colorado Springs (driven to the top of Pikes Peak),
Durango (and rode the Durango to Silverton railroad), Boulder (if you
like Italian food visit the Gondolier with home made pasta), Estes Park (and
into Rocky Mountain National Park), and many other small remote towns.
