3 Minutes Or Less May 00

"Three Minutes or Less," is a Lawrence variety show that is the theatrical equivalent of channel surfing. The show features traditional and nontraditional acts which may include singing, dancing, juggling chain saws, parlor tricks, poetry, monologues...whatever. Each performer or "act" is allowed, you guessed it, three minutes or less to perform. If an act should be long-winded, that act risks getting yanked off of the stage by the theater hags (watch out!). This type of theater attracts a cross section of theater goers because if one act doesn't whet the appetite, just wait three minutes and a whole new act appears for the audience to enjoy.

André, Rhonda, and Janet waiting for tickets
to Three Minutes Or Less.

We were greeted at the door by this
special hag.
She liked to use her back
scratcher on people and
give young men a hard time.

Robert performing on clarinet with his band.

Deborah's short version of her Elvis
monologue. It was over three minutes
and she was booted off-stage!
"Uh, Thank ya, thank ya very much!"

Lord Duct Tape
He had burning incense on his head
that was spread through
the air by way of the spinning
spiral.

Randy sang his heart out as
Oscar the Grouch. You should
see him with green skin
and a unibrow!

Matt worked out some poetic
rap on stage. A local thought
provoker.

Neither Janet or Deborah
doing a good job of rabbit ears, eh?
The Balloon Man. He's a local
favorite. He always has a new
trick up his sleeve.
