First, make an angel food cake. You can use any kind you like from Food Club to Betty Crocker. I like using Betty Crocker because they have the colored sprinkles in the cake, and I'm a big fan of sprinkles!
Once your cake is cool and ready, you can slice horizontally to frost in the middle, or skip this part all together, because it's not really necessary and it just complicates things.
Here's how to make the frosting!
Ingredients:
1 big, huge chocolate Hershey bar w/without almonds. (You know, the REALLY big bar!)
|
1 tub of Extra Creamy Cool Whip. (Don't get Food club, go for Cool Whip)
Use the double boiler method to melt the chocolate, and be sure to stir while it melts. Once it is completely melted, take it off of the steam and keep stirring to cool it down. Pour the chocolate into a big bowl using a spatula and start adding the Cool Whip to the chocolate. If it appears to be melting the Cool Whip, then let the chocolate cool a bit more. Mix in all of the Cool Whip with the chocolate until it turns to a light, even brown. Now, it's ready for frosting the cake!
I put more sprinkles on top of the cake for that extra festive look. Sprinkles are good!
