Over the course of six months, I have sold over 300 items, posted around 400 items, and currently volunteer eBay information via AllExperts.com.  Over the months, I have taken several inquiries as to what I do on eBay.  So, for those of you that are interested in selling an item on eBay, and need help, here is a place where you can view my services!

Planet's eBay Service fees:
1.  15% of the selling price over $100.00 and under $2000.00
2.  40% of the selling price if under $100.00
(Good for miscellaneous items you simply want to move.)
3.  Negotiable flat fee if auction item starts over $2000.00
4.  Unsuccessful auction will cost you nominal listing fees
incurred by eBay (.25 - $2.00 per item.) + 15% of your intial listing price.  I will relist an unsuccessful auction once without charging any additional fee.

See the 2 Scenarios for using my services.

Scenario 1
Let's say that you live in Lawrence, KS, or somewhere close, and you have a box of items that you want to get rid of.  But, you know that your box of modest treasures may be worth something and hate to just give them away.

Drop that box of treasures off at my house, and I will do the following:

Take pictures of the item with my digital camera, or scan the item.
Transfer the picture to my webspace (FTP-File Transfer Protocol).
Post the item on eBay so that the item is displayed in a web page using HTML.
Post the item under my username and password.
Coorespond with potential bidders and buyers and keeping track of emails using an Excel spreadsheet.
Track all sales, fees, and commissions using an Excel spreadsheet.
Give client (you) a record of all transactions and coorespondence.
Check or Money Order will be mailed to me.
After payment is received, I ship the item to the winning bidder.
After winning bidder has received the item and is satisfied, I pay you 60% of the sale minus the listing fee (.25-2.00 per item), and minus 50% of the valuation fee (5%-1.5% per sold item. See eBay's Final Value Fees).

You can make money from your attic!

Scenario 2
If you cannot provide the item for me, then you can provide a picture/s and description, and I will post the picture, set up the HTML, FTP the page/s to my webspace under your registered eBay name and password (password can be changed after the auction is over).  You can either pay me a flat fee (to be negotiated based on amount of pictures/pages), or a commission of the sale 40/15% (as described above).  Since the item/items are listed under YOUR eBay username, only a commission from Planet eBay Services will be charged to you.  A specified pre-paid deposit will be required before the auction.  This deposit is non-refundable if the auction is unsuccessful, though I will relist the auction with no additional fees.

Below is an example of site I created for a family in Marina Del Ray, CA.  They had difficulty getting their pictures to show up on eBay, and solicited my help via AllExperts.com.  After volunteering my technical expertise over the phone, they decided to pay me a flat fee to get this beautiful bug online.  This auction was conducted under their username.  All they did was send me 13 pictures via email and their username and password.  Also supplied, was the description of the car.

This area was generated by eBay (except for the picture.)

Everything that you
see in purple was generated by Planet's eBay Services.

The button was made by me and is a link to the thumbnail pictures to the right.

The description was supplied by the seller.

This part is generated by eBay and is where the bidder enters his/her bid.

Thumbnail pictures were used to enable the potential bidders to view the pictures even with a slow internet connection.

Let me do the work for you!

Let's do some 40% commission math!
(For items listed under $100.00)

Item : Old Rolling Stone magazine.
Your price: $15.00
My price: (40%): $6.00
Item Listed for: $15.00 + $6.00 = $21.00
Winning Bid: $50.00
Listing Fee: .50
Valuation Fee: (5.0% of initial $25.00 + 2.5% of remaining closing value balance) $1.25 + .63 = $1.88
Winning Bid:
$50.00
-
000.50 (Listing Fee)
-
000.94 (50% of Valuation Fee)
-
020.00 (40% commission)

This is $13.56 OVER what you wanted for the item.

Not a bad deal for a box of attic stuff.

And, that's just ONE item.

Let's do some 15% commission math!
(For items listed from $100.00 - $1000.00)

Item: Gold necklace with saphire gem.
Your price: $250.00
My price: (15%):  $37.50
Item Listed for: $250 + $37.50 =$287.50
Winning Bid: $300.00
Listing Fee: $2.00
Valuation Fee: (5.0% of initial $25.00 + 2.5% of remaining closing value balance) $1.25 + $6.88 = $8.13
Winning Bid:
$300.00
-
0002.00 (Listing Fee)
-
0004.07 (50% of Valuation Fee)
-
0045.00 (15% commission)

In this case, you take a loss of $1.07.  You decide if taking a loss from your desired price of $250.00 is worth it.  This is part of the risk of using an auction format.  Try the math of winning bids ending at $350.00 or more.  Try the math of a winning bid of $250.00 (the loss will be greater than that of the scenario above).

Consider the fact that all you do is supply me the item and description, or a picture of the item and description. In the case of Scenario 1, all coorespondence is handled and tracked by me.  Actual shipping is also handled by me. Scenario 2 requires that you handle all cooresponce and shipping, but I set up the auction. And remember, typically items sold on eBay are items that you no longer want!

Questions about the Final Value Fee?

Here's how you calculate your Final Value Fee:

1.  Take the first $25 of your final value, and calculate 5% of that. If your item sold for $25 or less, this is your Final Value Fee.
2.  If your final value was more than $25, take the additional amount, from $25.01 to $1,000, and calculate 2.5% of that.
3.  If your final value was more than $1,000, take that additional amount and calculate 1.25% of the remaining amount.

Add these amounts together and you have your Final Value Fee!

Closing Value
Final Value Fee
$0 - $25
5.0% of the closing value
$25 - $1,000
5.0% of the initial $25 ($1.25),
plus 2.5% of the remaining closing value balance.
Over $1,000
5.0% of the initial $25 ($1.25),
plus 2.5% of the initial $25-$1000 ($24.38),
plus 1.25% of the remaining closing value balance.

You will not be charged a Final Value Fee if:
There were no bids on your item
If there were no bids that met your reserve price for your Reserve Price Auction

But you will be charged a Final Value Fee:
Whether or not you consummate the sale with the buyer

Even if you want to conduct the auction yourself, please ask any question.
I'll be happy to answer them!
