Renew Thy Vows
Renew Thy Vows

Gary and Janet celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on June 30th.  For about two weeks, I listened to Janet tell me about their plans to celebrate knowing that what she thought was not to be.  Gary carefully orchestrated this surprise, and also invited family and friends to witness a renewal of their vows.  It was a great party, with great cake, and great company.  The downside for me was my camera.  The delay is evident in these pictures, and the batteries wore out before I got all of the pictures I wanted.  If I get some of Janet's father's pics, I'll post those, too.

I don't think the surprise has sunk in, yet.
Notice her husband Gary has decided to stay out of
it at this point.

Now it's beginning to settle in...the realization
that she's just been SURPRISED!  Whoohoo!
Notice Gary feels it's safe to come in, now.

Genelle, a good friend
of the couple with
great taste in vests.

This is the point where all guests assembled themselves before the bride and groom of ten years.  Laurie said some words, caused some laughter, and maybe even a little snickering.  After all was said and done, the couple kissed...and kissed (this is a good sign), and the partying commenced!

Gary looks thoughtful, Laurie grabbing
for words, and Janet simply observing.

This has to be some kind of
marriage joke, no doubt.
Probably at Gary's expense!

For those of you that don't already know, Gary is an artist/photographer.  He's taken many great photos over the years, and has written and published a book, "Molten Memoirs", which describes his experience during the eruption and aftermath of the volcano in Salem, Montserrat.

See what Gary sees.

Janet's father, step-mom, and Janet and Gary's friends.

This is what happens when you point a camera at a
crowd for too long!  My batteries died after this shot.
Sorry guys!
